Fresh Air

You don’t really get the true meaning of the phrase “a breath of fresh air” until you’ve stayed inside for several hours straight and step outside on a beautiful, temperate, breezy day. The difference in feeling is amazing when that first deep breath is taken. When I want to take a real break, I go outside for this very reason. Nothing beats the freedom, the clarity, and the calmness.

I doubt that anyone has ever referred to me or my work as a breath of fresh air, but the ways I’ve described the real thing all sound like things I would like to be known for. “Things feel different when I am working with him.” “I have the freedom to share and explore ideas when I am around him.” “He speaks and acts with such clarity.” “There is an aura of calmness when he is in the room.” Wow…it would be great to be described that way. Now I just need to figure out how to get there. I have a feeling it is going to be more of an ongoing process than an arrival point.
